DSB Privacy Policy on Body Cameras

Introduction

This policy explains how we process your personal data when using body cameras (body-cams) during ticket inspections. DSB's train conductors and S-train inspectors are equipped with body cameras to prevent violence and threats, thereby ensuring a safer working environment for employees.

When and how we use body cameras

The cameras record both audio and video, but only when activated by the employee. Employees are instructed to activate the camera only in situations where it is necessary for their safety. When an employee activates the camera, it stores approximately 30 seconds of footage prior to activation. The employee will inform the customer about activating the camera as far as possible.

Why we process your personal data

The purpose of using bodycams is to prevent and investigate incidents involving violence and threats against DSB’s train conductors and S-train inspectors. We process ordinary personal data about customers in the form of audio and video recordings during ticket inspections. Furthermore, information on potential criminal offenses may be included if recordings contain violent acts or statements.

What is the legal basis for processing your personal data

We process your personal data on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which allows us to process personal data when it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in us. We also process special categories of personal data, such as information on potential criminal offenses, on the basis of Article 10 of GDPR, which allows us to process such data when it is necessary for the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offenses.

Who we share your personal data with

DSB may disclose recordings from body cameras to police in connection with potential criminal incidents. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties, unless we are required by law or have your consent.

How long we keep your personal data

Recordings are automatically deleted after 14 days. However, recordings that need to be handed over to police will not be deleted until they have been delivered to police authorities.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability, in accordance with the GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency if you are dissatisfied with how we process your personal data. You can read more about your rights in DSB’s general privacy policy.
