Commuter Card

The card for you who frequently travel on the same route.

Travel freely in your commuter area

With a Commuter Card in the DSB app, you can enjoy unlimited travel within your selected zones by train, bus, metro, and light rail – all at a fixed, low price.

  • Travel freely in your commuter area: Use the card every day, including weekends and public holidays, as long as it’s valid.
  • Bring children for free: Two children under the age of 12 can travel with you for free.
  • Affordable seat reservation: Buy a seat reservation for just 10 DKK where your card is valid.
  • Flexible validity: Choose whether the card should be valid for 30 or 60 days.

A Commuter Card is often worth it if you travel 3–4 days a week on average.

With DSB Commuter Check, you can see if a Commuter Card is the right choice for you in terms of price, CO2 savings, and travel time. In the DSB app, you can also check the cost of a Commuter Card for your regular route.

Commuter Card or Pendler20?

If your travel needs vary from week to week, Commuter20 might be a great solution for you.

With Pendler20, you get 20 travel days to use at your convenience, one day at a time, within 60 consecutive days on your chosen route. So, if you "only" commute 2–3 days a week on the same route, Commuter20 could be the right choice for you.

Commuter Card for children

Children can get a Commuter Card at a child price until the day they turn 16. They can even bring another child (under 12 years old) for free and travel as much as they want on the selected route.

If the child is 12 years or older, the Commuter Card can be purchased in the DSB app, where the child must have their own DSB profile. If the child is under 12 years old, you need to purchase the Commuter Card on rejsekort.dk, where you, as a parent, must create a user profile before ordering.

Your Commuter Card is in the DSB app

You can purchase or renew your Commuter Card in the DSB app. If you switch phones, you can log in to DSB Plus and transfer your card to your new device.

Get a seat reservation for 10 DKK

If you want to secure a seat on the train, you can purchase a Commuter Seat Reservation in the DSB app or at 7-Eleven on the station for just 10 DKK, valid for all or part of your route.

There is a limited number of commuter seats available on trains where seat reservations are already possible, so make sure to book in advance.

Enjoy a quiet workspace on DSB 1'

If you occasionally want to commute on DSB 1' for your route, you can purchase a DSB 1' upgrade ticket at 7-Eleven on the station. With DSB 1', you’ll have a quiet space to work or relax with daily newspapers while enjoying a cup of coffee, tea, or mineral water. If you commute on longer routes, it might be worth purchasing a DSB 1' Commuter Card in the DSB app.

With a DSB 1' Commuter Card or an upgrade ticket to DSB 1', you also gain access to the DSB 1' Lounge in Odense, Aarhus, or Copenhagen.

Avoid the penalty fare

If you forget your phone or it runs out of battery, preventing you from showing your Commuter Card in the app, you can avoid the 750 DKK penalty fare with DSB Plus and the "Forgotten Card" feature.

Metro Add-On for Your Commuter Card

If you travel in zones 1-4 and want to include the metro with your Commuter Card, you can add a metro supplement when purchasing your card in the DSB app.

Simply select ‘with metro’ when buying your Commuter Card in the app if you wish to travel by metro. Alternatively, you can save on the supplement by selecting ‘without metro’ and travel only by train, bus, and light rail.

Frequently asked questions

  • You choose the duration of your commuter card, ranging from a minimum of 30 days to a maximum of 60 days. You can travel with your commuter card from 00:00 on the first day of validity until 03:59 after the last day of validity.

  • You can find your route and price in the DSB app. Here, you can see which zones you need to travel through to get from your home to your workplace. You can travel freely within the zones you select, so you can also use your Commuter Card in your free time.

The price of your Commuter Card depends on several factors: how many zones you choose, whether you want to travel by metro, the validity period of the card, and whether you want to travel in Standard or DSB 1’, where available.

To give you flexibility in choosing alternative routes between your home and workplace, there may be a difference between how many zones your card is valid for and how many zones your price is calculated from. For example, you might pay for 10 zones but have 14 validity zones on your Commuter Card. This is because the system calculates the most natural travel routes between your starting zone and destination zone and assigns validity zones that match the different route options.

  • You can make changes when renewing your card, and it’s free of charge. Please note that this will be processed as a new purchase, meaning you’ll receive a new card number.

If you’re registered for 'Glemt Kort' or Travel Time Guarantee, you’ll need to update your profile accordingly.

You can update personal details or payment card information under ‘Settings’ in the DSB app.

An active Commuter Card cannot be changed. If you need different zones or a different route during the validity period, the card can be refunded according to the applicable rules.
